Sparta holds thousands of acres of public hunting land between the DNR and Fort McCoy to spend some time on and hunt game of the seasons. Seasons for small game, waterfowl, turkey, and pheasant open in September and October while deer season is in November.

The Elroy-Sparta trail also has partial areas open to hunting and trapping during the Wisconsin state parks hunting time frame. All hunting and trapping licenses apply.
