Day 1:

5:30 – enjoy an upscale dinner at Italiano’s restaurant, authentic Italian food all made-to-order with fresh ingredients (608) 269-6393.

7:30 – finish your day with a sunset stroll across Sparta’s unique Community Bridges, including the Beaver Creek Covered Bridge, Mary Morrow Bridge, the Pointe Covered Bridge and the Ben Bikin’ Park Footbridge. Grab a glass of wine or bourbon from Cork & Barrel, conveniently located in Downtown Sparta.

Day 2:

8:00 – start your day with a coffee or refreshing smoothie made-to-order from the Franklin Coffeehouse.

10:00 – visit the unique gift shops of Down a Country Road which showcase the products and crafts of over 40 local Amish families. Day 3:

9:00 – enjoy breakfast at Dorine’s Family Inn with an abundance of meal options in a warm and welcoming environment. (608) 269-8258.

10:30 – go antiquing at some of our local antique shops! Check out Janusheske Antiques (608) 269-6253 on Highway 27, Jenine’s Antiques located in downtown Sparta, or Sparta’s New & Used Shop.

12:30 – lunch at the Cotter Pin. Enjoy a full menu including wraps, paninis, pizza, salads, and sandwiches. The Cotter Pin is also a wine and craft beer gift shop that sells unique gifts. (608) 487-8118.

2:00 – arrive for a tour of the Wegner Grotto which stands in a quiet, tree-shaded patch of rural Sparta. The Wegner’s engulfed the grotto in color and light by decorating their concrete sculptures with a brilliant mosaic of shattered glass and broken crockery. Hidden within the thousands of sparkling shards are a number of curiosities.
