Romantic Getaway

Day 1:

9:30 – head to Speed’s Bike Shop to rent bikes (or bring your own!) and bike the famous Sparta-Elroy Bike Trail. Bring a flashlight and a light jacket for the tunnels!

11:30 – enjoy lunch at Sparta Family Restaurant or the Dorset Valley School Restaurant in Wilton.

1:00 – bike back or check out historic downtown Sparta. Shop at some of our specialty shops including KEPS Naturals and Urban Nest.

3:00 – have an afternoon coffee or smoothie at Franklin Coffeehouse.

Day 2:

9:00 – have a hearty breakfast at Dorine’s Family Inn served by their friendly staff.

10:30 – head to the La Crosse or Kickapoo River and rent a canoe or kayak. If being afloat isn’t your thing, enjoy a day of golf at River Run Golf Course. 7:30 – finish your day with a sunset stroll across Sparta’s unique Community Bridges, including the Beaver Creek Covered Bridge, Mary Morrow Bridge, the Point Covered Bridge, and the Ben Bikin’ Park Footbridge. Grab a glass of wine or bourbon at The Cork & Barrel, also located downtown Sparta.

Day 3:

10:00 – before you leave town, visit the unique gift shops of Down a Country Road which showcase the products and crafts of over 40 local Amish families.
